About the project

Russia House is Russia’s official residence in Davos; a meeting place for business leaders, prominent politicians, economists, academics, and representatives of the creative professions. The key aim of Russia House is to demonstrate Russia’s openness to dialogue and cooperation in order to achieve shared success in business.

Russia House in 2018

Over five days from 22 to 26 January the official Russian residence in Davos welcomed more than 1,000 guests from 60 foreign countries in addition to more than 120 media representatives. Over 50 business events and panel sessions took place within the walls of the Russia House and were attended by prominent entrepreneurs, experts, and media representatives.

The project was organized by the Roscongress Foundation in cooperation with its partners: Agency for Housing Mortgage Lending, ER-Telecom Holding, V-Tell, the Moscow Government, the Moscow Department for External Economic and International Relations, EY, and Universa. The operator of the site and evening events was Congress-International and the company Simple.

This year marked the first time that the Russia House acquired the status of an official Russian residence. In addition to the head of the government delegation Arkady Dvorkovich, the business programme also included Russian Minister of Energy Alexander Novak, Russian Minister of Economic Development Maxim Oreshkin, Russian Minister of Communications and Mass Media Nikolay Nikiforov, Minister of the Moscow City Government and Head of the Moscow City Foreign Economic and International Relations Department Sergey Cheremin, and representatives of other departments.

The main topics of discussion at Russia House were the development of digital technologies and industries, and Russia’s competitiveness on the global energy market. Particular attention was devoted to charity and philanthropy. Russia House also hosted a photo exhibition called ‘Charitable Focus’.

“ I’m confident that the discussion format offered by Russia House in Davos is a great opportunity not only to get to know our country and its cultural traditions, but also to feel at home while away from it. This is confirmed by the positive feedback from the many guests who visited. I would like to thank the Roscongress Foundation for such a hospitable welcome and for opening up Russia House to provide a space for discussion, networking, and sharing views. Please keep this tradition going with creativity, enthusiasm, and pride in Russia! ”

Arkady Dvorkovich,
Deputy Prime Minister
of the Russian Federation

“Russia House in Davos has come to truly embody business Russia in Switzerland, acting as a kind of hub for national ideas and competitive breakthrough technologies. It is a place where you can connect with colleagues, partners and friends. There is a remarkable symbiosis here between the business space and the informal setting, which is perfectly suited to promoting productive dialogue at an important international event.”

Maxim Oreshkin,
Minister of Economic Development
of the Russian Federation

“Thank you to Russia House for their fantastic organization of these events. The VTB team made full use of the opportunities available to us. We look forward to working together in 2019.”

Andrey Kostin,
President, Chairman of the
Management Board, VTB Bank

“Thanks to the business sessions and private meetings hosted by our venue, international guests and partners are now better informed about the opportunities for doing business in our country. We are seeking to show that Russia is open for dialogue, and to achieve this we are initiating projects like Russia House.”

Alexander Stuglev,
CEO, The Roscongress Foundation

“Russia House has shown itself to be an effective platform for conducting business meetings and unofficial events on the sidelines of the Forum. For several years in a row, Russia House has hosted meetings of the Foreign Investment Advisory Council (FIAC), where representatives from international business circles have been able to engage in discussions with economic officials from the Russian Government in an informal setting.”
